Overview

Job title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Injection Moulding

Reports to: Shift Engineer

Position summary:

The post holder reports directly to the Injection Moulding Shift Engineer for Production duties and to the Maintenance Engineer for Maintenance duties. They are accountable for supporting with the maintenance and uptime of IM Machinery by completing effective preventative maintenance and process improvements.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • To ensure the efficient running of all Moulding machines, robots, automation units and all ancillary equipment. To correct any breakdowns of any of the above as promptly as possible, as safely as possible. In cases of multiple breakdowns, to be able to prioritise the order of repairs to minimize downtime throughout the shift.
  • To ensure the area is clean and tidy as per ETL’s 5S policy and IM standard.
  • Any concerns or issues are reported to the Shift Engineer in the first instance.
  • Note: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Duties / responsibilities
  • Contribute to compliance with ISO and other statutory requirements, by ensuring that the relevant processes are followed and records maintained
  • Maintaining 5S standards
  • Preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure quality and stability of production
  • Responsible for daily maintenance of Injection Moulding machinery
  • Ensuring any breakdowns are dealt with and fixed in a timely manner
  • Re-ordering of parts consumed during any maintenance or repair of machinery
  • Assistance in tool changes where necessary
  • Understand and work towards business and departmental performance, ensuring for maximum productivity
  • Daily safety checks in accordance with Shift Engineer
  • Cover the Shift Engineers production duties as and when necessary

  • Ensure all waste is segregated into the correct waste streams
  • Contribute to compliance with ISO and other statutory requirements, by ensuring that the relevant processes are followed, and records maintained as per departmental procedures and quality plan
