Job summary

The Role (75% Technical / 25% People Management)

You’lltakeresponsibilityforcoordinatingateamofinfrastructureprofessionals,maintaininghighservicestandardsandprovidingsenior-leveltechnicalsupportacrossapredominantlyMicrosoft-basedenvironment.

WorkingcloselywiththeInfrastructure&SecurityManager,you’llhelpshapetechnicalpriorities,supportstrategicinitiativesandensureinfrastructureservicescontinuetomeetoperationalandsecurityrequirements.

Keyresponsibilitieswillinclude:

• Coachanddevelopteammembers,supportingtechnicalprogression,performancemanagementandknowledgesharing.
• Coordinateteamrotas,holidaycoverandon-callarrangementstomaintainserviceavailability,includingout-of-hoursincidentresponseandplannedmaintenance.
• Remainhands-onwiththird-linesupport,infrastructurechanges,troubleshootingandtheimplementationoftechnicalimprovements.
• Workcollaborativelywithservicedesk,applicationsandwidertechnologycolleaguestomaintainreliableandresponsiveITservices.
• Supportchangemanagementprocesses,includingchairingchangeadvisorymeetingswhenrequired.
• Identifyopportunitiestostrengthensecurity,improveoperationalefficiencyandenhancetheresilienceofcoretechnologyplatforms.
• Helpmaintaineffectiverelationshipswithexternalsuppliersandtechnologypartners.

You’llbringastronginfrastructureengineeringbackground,confidentleadershipskillsandtheabilitytobalanceoperationalresponsibilitieswithlonger-termimprovements.

Essentialexperienceandskills:

• Extensivehands-onexperiencewithMicrosoftAzure,includingvirtualmachines,virtualnetworks,loadbalancingandcloudstorage.
• StrongknowledgeofWindowsServer,Hyper-Vandhybridinfrastructureenvironments.
• Experiencewithnetworkingtechnologies,includingswitching,Wi-Fi,SD-WAN,firewallsandVPNs.
• ExperiencewithMicrosoftEntraID,ActiveDirectory,ConditionalAccessandmultifactorauthentication.
• KnowledgeofMicrosoft365services,includingExchangeOnline,TeamsandSharePointOnline.
• Experiencesupportingcomplextechnicalincidentsandprovidingthird-lineinfrastructuresupport.
• Previousexperienceleading,mentoringorcoordinatingtechnicalcolleagues,withthecommunicationskillstobringoutthebestinateam.

Experienceacrossabroadrangeofthefollowingtechnologieswouldbebeneficial:

• Identityandcollaboration:MicrosoftEntraID,ActiveDirectory,Microsoft365,ExchangeOnline,TeamsandSharePointOnline.
• Networkingandconnectivity:ArubaCentral,networkswitching,wirelessinfrastructure,SD-WAN,firewalls,VPNsandsecureremoteaccess.
• Resilienceandoperations: Backup and disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, penetration testing, security monitoring, incident response and managed detection and response.
