Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal/Associate Engineer in Infrastructure Lighting to lead the Lighting Team on major UK and international projects. You will guide design, analysis, and asset management while expanding capabilities in aviation and major highways work.

The role requires strong leadership, technical excellence, and collaboration across disciplines. With a hybrid working policy and opportunities to shape the team and diverse workload, you’ll contribute to sustainable lighting

Qualifications

• Essential: demonstrable experience leading a technical team and engaging with clients.
• Essential: strong interest in infrastructure lighting and its application across projects.
• Essential: IT skills with a digital modelling approach to delivery by default.
• Essential: methodical problem solving with focus on sustainability and decarbonisation.
• Essential: excellent written communication and attention to detail.
• Essential: excellent verbal communication and ability to grow and diversify the team.

Responsibilities

• Performing advanced analysis for a wide variety of complex scenarios.
• Undertaking options selection and preliminary designs of infrastructure lighting.
• Designing or assessing all types of infrastructure lighting to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Providing infrastructure lighting asset management advisory services to clients.
• Recruiting, mentoring, leading and supporting new team members at all levels to grow and develop the team.
• Engaging with other Mott MacDonald offices and divisions to generate new work and support diversification of workload.
