Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Lighting Design Engineer to contribute to nationally significant transport lighting projects. You will prepare lighting and electrical designs, conduct site surveys, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver excellent outcomes.

The role requires knowledge of Lighting Reality, AutoCAD, and relevant British lighting standards. A relevant engineering qualification and ILP-related credentials are desirable, with hybrid working and inclusive employment

Qualifications

• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing workload with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
• Experience with lighting design software and related tools, including Lighting Reality and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and contribute to high-quality lighting and electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation to support project delivery.
• Undertake site surveys to inform design development and nighttime lighting assessments.
• Develop and maintain strong technical credibility and trusted relationships with clients, contributing to successful project outcomes within collaborative environments.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective coordination and integration of design solutions.
