Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Lighting Design Engineer to contribute to national transport projects. You will develop lighting and electrical designs, undertake site surveys, and liaise with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, compliant outcomes.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements across UK offices, with opportunities to progress within an expert Street Lighting team. Relevant electrical/lighting qualifications are preferred, with ILP accreditation a bonus.

Qualifications

• Engineering or electrical qualification required (certificate/diploma).
• Experience with lighting design software and Electrical standards is essential.
• Desirable ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma or EngTech/ILP membership could strengthen candidacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lighting and electrical designs, drawings, specs, and contract docs for projects.
• Conduct site surveys to inform design and nighttime lighting assessments.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support project outcomes in collaborative environments.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
