Job summary

Galliford Try is recruiting a Commercial Manager to join our Infrastructure unit on a Bedford highways project, overseeing regional schemes. You will own day-to-day commercial administration, deliver accurate reporting, monitor performance, and manage cost, change and risk to meet contractual requirements while leading a commercial team.

You will work with the Senior Commercial Manager and operations colleagues to ensure successful delivery, build strong client and subcontractor relationships,

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of standard forms of contract.
• High IT capability with Excel, Word and commercial systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Solid knowledge of construction processes and commercial best practice.
• Proven ability to manage time and deliver outcomes.
• Strong leadership with experience in developing teams.
• Experience in negotiation and final account settlement.
• MRICS or related professional qualification and CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Promote and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Act as the Project Commercial Lead, managing main contract administration.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract documentation, including terms, pricing and programme.
• Manage subcontract packages, including interim valuations, payments and change control.
• Manage commercial notices and contract change, including Compensation Event Quotations.
• Produce monthly applications, CVRs, cost plans and performance reports, forecasting expenditure and liabilities.
• Lead and develop the commercial team, support project risk management, and provide contractual support to bids and estimating.
