Job summary

Galliford Try, based in Bedford, is seeking a Commercial Manager to take ownership of day-to-day commercial administration on our highways project and regional schemes. You will report to the Senior Commercial Manager and partner with operational colleagues to monitor cost, change, and risk while delivering on contractual requirements.

You will lead subcontract administration, valuations, and reporting, while building relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of standard forms of contract.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven leadership with track record of developing and managing teams.
• MRICS qualification and CSCS card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Act as the Project Commercial Lead, managing main contract administration.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract documentation, including terms, pricing and programme.
• Manage subcontract packages, including interim valuations, payments and change control.
• Manage commercial notices and contract change, including Compensation Event Quotations.
• Produce monthly applications, CVRs, cost plans and performance reports, forecasting expenditure and liabilities.
• Lead and develop the commercial team, support project risk management, and provide contractual support to bids and estimating.
