Job summary

Nextech Group Limited in Abingdon, Oxfordshire is seeking an IT Field Engineer to install, configure and support Cisco and Fortinet network devices. The role involves working on customer sites and delivering hands-on IT support.

You will troubleshoot network, server and software issues across Windows Server, M365, Azure and Hyper-V environments, with travel to customer sites required and a full UK driving licence essential.

Qualifications

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire – with travel to customer sites

Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for a growing MSP looking for a hands‑on IT Field Engineer with previous networking experience.

This is a network-focused role, supporting customers with installations, technical projects and day‑to‑day IT support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and support Cisco and Fortinet routers, switches and firewalls.
• Assist with network infrastructure projects and installations.
• Provide on-site and remote IT support to customers.
• Support Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure and Hyper‑V environments.
• Troubleshoot network, server, hardware and software issues.
• Work directly with customers and the wider IT/project teams.

About You

• Previous experience in IT Support, Networking or Field Engineering.
• Good understanding of networking, ideally with Cisco and/or Fortinet experience.
• Some experience with Windows Server, Azure, M365 and/or Hyper‑V.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Comfortable travelling to customer sites.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• MSP experience is desirable but not essential.
