Job summary

SPECTRUM IT is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to provide dedicated onsite IT support for multiple client locations around Brackley. You will troubleshoot, configure and replace hardware, maintain asset records and own tasks through to completion.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong communication with users, and regular travel to remote client sites within 80km. A £450 monthly car allowance is provided as a perk.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience in an IT support or field engineer role.
• Hands-on laptop builds, device setup and hardware replacement.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, OSes and workstation hardware.
• Exposure to Intune, Azure and Cisco Meraki.
• Strong troubleshooting, clear documentation and customer service.
• Excellent communication and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure laptops and mobile devices and complete hardware replacements.
• Troubleshoot desktops, printers, access points and other IT equipment.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Engineer to provide dedicated onsite IT support for an excellent client. You'll support IT projects, incidents, and service requests across multiple client locations, with a particular focus on hardware replacement, device setup, troubleshooting and maintaining accurate asset records. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with users, and taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
The office is based in Brackley and the client sites you'll be responsible for are within an 80km distance of this location. As well as a competitive salary, you will also be entitled to a £450 per month car allowance and milage.

Role responsibilities

Skills Required

• At least 1 years' experience in an IT support, Field Engineer, or similar technical role
• Hands‑on experience with laptop builds, mobile device setup and hardware replacement
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, desktop operating systems, and workstation hardware
• Exposure to Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure, and Cisco Meraki
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear technical documentation
• Ability to take ownership of technical issues and see them through to completion
• Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to remote client sites
