Astrum Search is supporting a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company specializing in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the Controls Assurance team, you will conduct reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects. Your role involves assessing key risk areas, especially within the change portfolio, providing insights to the Board and Senior Leadership to improve the business.

Responsibilities:

• Lead assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications, and infrastructure within a trading environment.
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape, applying a business-first risk approach.
• Conduct risk evaluations and assurance work across engineering functions.
• Apply creative testing strategies to generate data-driven insights.
• Integrate data throughout the review process, from planning to reporting and follow-up.
• Present concise risk summaries and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or above in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of modern software development methods such as Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience in a second or third line risk, audit, or assurance role, with a financial services background.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments where system reliability is critical.
• Proficiency in working with datasets and problem-solving with a structured approach.
• Familiarity with analytical tools like Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Python is advantageous.
