Technology Assurance Analyst

Hybrid / London office based

Astrum Search is delighted to support a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company specializing in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the commercially focused Controls Assurance team, you will be a problem solver, conducting reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects. You will assess key business risk areas, particularly across the change portfolio, providing the Board and Senior Leadership team with insights to improve the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications, and infrastructure within a trading environment.
2. Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape while applying a business-first risk approach.
3. Conduct risk evaluations across critical engineering functions.
4. Implement creative testing strategies to generate data-driven insights.
5. Integrate data throughout the review process, from planning to reporting and follow-up.
6. Present concise summaries of risk areas and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or above in Computer Science or a related discipline.
2. Solid understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
3. Experience in a second or third line risk, audit, or assurance role, with a background in financial services.
4. Ability to operate confidently in fast-paced environments where system reliability is critical.
5. Proficient in working with datasets and structured problem-solving.
6. Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Python is advantageous.
