Technology Assurance Analyst

Astrum Search is supporting a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company specializing in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the Controls Assurance team, you will conduct reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects, assessing risk areas across the change portfolio, and providing insights to the Board and Senior Leadership to improve business operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead assessments of tech platforms, applications, and infrastructure within a trading environment.
2. Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape with a risk-focused approach.
3. Perform risk evaluations and assurance activities in engineering functions.
4. Apply creative testing strategies to generate data-driven insights.
5. Incorporate data throughout the review process, from planning to reporting.
6. Present clear summaries of risk findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or higher in Computer Science or related field.
2. Good understanding of modern software development practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
3. Experience in risk, audit, or assurance roles within financial services.
4. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-reliability environments.
5. Proficiency in working with datasets and problem-solving with a structured approach.
6. Knowledge of analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Python is advantageous.
