Job summary

Universal Business Team is recruiting for a Business Development Manager – Industrial Packaging in Dundee, Scotland. The role focuses on identifying and securing new customers, then growing accounts during the first year before handing them to an account management structure.

You will drive acquisition across Dundee and the wider Tayside area, build long-term relationships, and shape the company’s commercial expansion across Scotland. Hybrid working and a competitive package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience within packaging, industrial consumables, manufacturing, distribution, or a related B2B environment.
• A proven track record of delivering new business growth and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, and account development skills.
• Experience using CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
• Commercial awareness, resilience, and a self-motivated approach.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Identify, target, and win new customers across Dundee and surrounding areas.
• Develop and execute a territory growth plan aligned to business objectives.
• Generate opportunities through networking, prospecting, referrals, social selling, and industry engagement.
• Build strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders.
• Present tailored proposals, negotiate commercial agreements, and secure profitable business.
• Manage onboarding and account development for newly acquired customers.
• Maintain CRM accuracy, pipeline visibility, and forecast reporting.
• Work closely with the operations, procurement, customer service, and commercial teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
