Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the UK within the packaging solutions sector. You will hunt for opportunities, build relationships and win high‑value accounts.

The role focuses on cartons and folding cartons, with activity across cosmetics, drinks and pharmaceutical markets, and offers uncapped commission, autonomy to develop your territory, and clear progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in cartons/folding cartons packaging.
• Strong track record of new business development and account acquisition.
• Experience selling into cosmetics, drinks/beverages and pharmaceutical markets.
• Excellent understanding of B2B packaging sales and commercial negotiations.
• Experience managing a 360° sales cycle.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
• Target and win new customers within the cartons/folding cartons market.
• Develop strong relationships with procurement, commercial, technical and senior decision-makers.
• Manage the full 360° sales process, from prospecting through to negotiation and account development.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and consistently deliver against revenue targets.
• Develop opportunities within the cosmetics, drinks and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Understand customer packaging requirements and work with internal teams to develop appropriate solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial presentations.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements to maximise profitable growth.
• Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales forecasts.
