Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is hiring a Mechanical Craftsperson at Ketton Cement Works. You will perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and support plant reliability for heavy industrial equipment. The role emphasizes safety, environment, and continuous improvement within a leading cement operations team.

Applicants should have a mechanical maintenance background in heavy industry and be proficient with pumps, valves, piping, and CMMS/SAP. SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
• Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Proven maintenance experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Competent with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Desirable SAP/CMMS experience and additional welding/fabrication qualifications.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience in continuous manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections and planned maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and carry out corrective repairs.
• Support plant reliability and continuous improvement.
• Participate in daily maintenance planning and MIP meetings.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance and safe working practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to deliver maintenance solutions.
• Contribute to ongoing maintenance process improvements.
