Job summary

Syngenta is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician at our Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre to maintain and optimise plant mechanical systems. You will deliver first-line maintenance, run planned and preventative tasks, and support continuous improvement initiatives to keep operations safe and productive.

The role requires an apprenticeship or craft qualification with hands-on experience, knowledge of HSEQ standards, and CMMS/SAP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship with hands-on experience or craft qualification in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of HSEQ and Safe Systems of Work on a Top Tier COMAH site.
• Experience with CMMS and SAP preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safe Systems of Work and HSEQ standards.
• Provide first-line maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Complete planned and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose faults using problem-solving tools.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to minimise downtime.
• Identify and implement reliability improvements and report changes.
• Develop and use Engineering Guides and Maintenance documents.
• Maintain CMMS records and BOMs.
