Job summary

Tata Steel UK is seeking a Mechanical Craft to join the Packaging department at Trostre. You will deliver preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, diagnose faults and support safe, reliable production, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, and process rolls.

The ideal candidate will have an HNC-level qualification (crafted or apprenticeship) with relevant heavy industry experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC level in mechanical engineering or equivalent craft/apprenticeship.
• Relevant plant or heavy industrial experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety protocols.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults on plant equipment.
• Provide mechanical expertise to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Work in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Support the training of new team members.
• Contribute to improvement activities and technical investigations.
