Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK, formerly Hanson UK, is recruiting a Mechanical Craftsperson for Ketton Cement Works to support our Maintenance Improvement Plan and ensure reliable plant operation. You will conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial equipment, diagnose faults, and implement improvements to maximise uptime while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Teamwork and effective planning are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• Completion of a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within heavy industry/manufacturing.
• Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Desirable experience with SAP or CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections and planned maintenance activities.
• Diagnose faults and carry out corrective repairs.
• Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in daily maintenance planning and MIP meetings.
• Work safely and comply with SHEQ requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to deliver maintenance solutions.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of maintenance processes and systems.
