We are recruiting Industrial Electricians for our maintenance department in the Bioresources business area at Yorkshire Water. This is a mobile role based across Hull, Bridlington, Leeds, and Bradford, with your home location determining your coverage area.
Permanent, 37 hours per week. Out-of-hours work, including weekends and bank holidays, will be part of a structured standby rota. Once trained, you will work independently and participate in out-of-hours standby, requiring flexibility outside core hours.
Yorkshire Water supplies over 5.4 million residents and visitors with safe drinking water and wastewater services. We are committed to community wellbeing, environmental protection, and sustainable water management, especially through initiatives like Bioresources to meet evolving customer and regulatory expectations.
As an Industrial Electrician, you will maintain electrical and mechanical assets at our Energy & Recycling sites, respond to emergency calls, and improve asset reliability through effective decision-making. You may work in various locations, including during adverse weather or escalations, and must be adaptable to work on any Yorkshire Water asset as needed.
You will work independently in remote locations, completing planned and reactive electrical tasks within deadlines and budgets. Building relationships with colleagues, operational staff, suppliers, and partners is essential. You will supervise contractors, conduct risk assessments, and use tools like Toughbook to record work activity. You will also assist in training apprentices and less experienced team members, and install and commission new equipment.
Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, process, or manufacturing sectors preferred. Ability to work in confined spaces and pass medical assessments for hazardous environments.
