This is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering team supporting both a modern processing facility and remote operational sites. Offering a varied workload and exposure to a range of electrical systems, this role would suit an experienced electrician who enjoys fault finding, maintenance work and travelling between locations as required.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving electrical systems and equipment that are critical to the day-to-day operation of the business.

Key duties will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to electrical breakdowns
  • Installing, upgrading and maintaining motors, pumps, drives, control panels, lighting systems and associated equipment
  • Diagnosing faults efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption to operations
  • Supporting automation, refrigeration and site infrastructure systems
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance and service records
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety, food safety and environmental standards
  • Assisting with site improvement projects and engineering developments
  • Travelling to sites in Skye and Scourie as required, with travel and accommodation arrangements provided
  • Participating in a rotating on-call rota for emergency breakdown response
Candidate Requirements

We would love to hear from applicants who have:

  • A recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing or commercial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical schematics
  • A good understanding of safe working practices and compliance procedures
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A practical, flexible and proactive approach to work

Experience with PLCs, control systems and variable speed drives would be advantageous, although not essential.

Candidates with additional mechanical knowledge or a multi-skilled maintenance background are also encouraged to apply.

  • Company vehicle or travel reimbursement when working away from base
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
