Job summary

Working within a dedicated engineering team, you will carry out planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and continuously improve electrical control systems to keep production running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with City & Guilds qualifications or above.
• Industrial electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing, production, or processing.
• Knowledge of PLC systems; Allen Bradley 5/40 and Siemens Step 5 preferred.
• Ability to fault-find and troubleshoot electrical equipment effectively.
• Capable of working independently and making sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and repair electrical breakdowns throughout the facility.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Diagnose faults and implement solutions to minimise production disruption.
• Maintain and improve electrical control systems and plant equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with procedures and legislation.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased reliability.

We are recruiting for an experienced Shift Electrician to join a large, well-established manufacturing company based in Inverness. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical maintenance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment and takes pride in keeping production running efficiently and safely.

Working as part of a dedicated engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a large manufacturing plant, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and repair electrical breakdowns throughout the manufacturing facility
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
• Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise production disruption
• Maintain and improve electrical control systems and plant equipment
