Northumberland County Council is seeking an Income Officer to join the Housing Management Team in Blyth. You will lead investigations into tenancy arrears, discuss payment plans with customers, and coordinate with specialists when needed.

The role involves home visits to assess arrears, identifying vulnerabilities, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver customer-focused solutions. A strong understanding of welfare benefits and a team-first attitude are essential.

Qualificações

• Knowledge of Welfare Benefits (CRF, previously DHP, under-occupation, and budgeting) preferred.
• Be forward thinking, empathetic and ready to take on meaningful challenges, making a difference to those in need.
• Be a team player and willing to help colleagues and manage your own patch.

Responsabilidades

• Undertaking thorough investigations into tenancy arrears to determine the reason for non-payment.
• Undertake regular communication with customers to discuss payment plans, negotiate arrears settlements and provide support with referrals to specialist services where appropriate.
• Undertake property visits to customers\' homes when necessary to discuss arrears and identify vulnerabilities.
• Work with other housing teams to develop effective solutions for customers facing financial difficulties, always providing a comprehensive customer-focused service.
