Job summary

The Beaulieu Park School is seeking an Inclusion Base Lead to establish and lead a new Provision that supports pupils facing barriers to attendance, engagement and learning. You will work with senior leaders, SEND staff, families and external agencies to design and run targeted interventions and reintegrate pupils back into a broad, ambitious curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Inclusion Base.
• Deliver structured learning programs to keep pupils engaged.

• Provide leadership to teaching assistants and mentors within the Base.
• Coordinate multi-agency support and review meetings.

The Beaulieu Park School is seeking an exceptional Inclusion Base Lead to establish and lead our new Inclusion Base, providing targeted support for pupils experiencing barriers to learning, including Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), SEND, anxiety and attendance difficulties.

This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed practitioner to shape a new provision that will play a pivotal role in improving attendance, supporting vulnerable learners and ensuring that every pupil remains connected to education.

The role

As Inclusion Base Lead, you will lead a specialist provision designed to support pupils experiencing barriers to attendance, engagement and learning.

Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, SEND staff, subject leaders, families and external agencies, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the school's Inclusion Base.
• Deliver structured learning programs that support pupils to remain engaged with education.
• Design, implement and evaluate targeted interventions to improve attendance, engagement and outcomes.
• Lead reintegration programs for pupils experiencing EBSA, persistent absence and reduced timetables.
• Act as Lead Professional for pupils accessing the provision.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to teaching assistants and mentors working within the Inclusion Base.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and families to remove barriers to learning and attendance.
• Coordinate multi-agency support and review meetings.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and reintegration outcomes, evaluating the impact of provision and contributing to school improvement.
• Work collaboratively with subject leaders to ensure pupils maintain access to a broad and ambitious curriculum.
• This is a newly created role reflecting the school's commitment to strengthening inclusion, improving attendance and ensuring vulnerable pupils receive the support they need to thrive.

• Has experience working with vulnerable, disengaged or hard‑to‑reach young people.
• Understands the challenges associated with EBSA, SEND, attendance and barriers to learning.
• Has experience of developing and delivering successful intervention programs.
• Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
• Is confident leading support plans and coordinating provision for individual pupils.
• Has excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Has the confidence to work collaboratively with external agencies and school staff.
• Believes that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.

Information about the School

The Beaulieu Park School is Essex's first 'All Through' school and the primary phase opens for reception students in September 2018 with the secondary phase opening in September 2019. The Beaulieu Park School will welcome its first cohort of 60 reception aged children in two classes. In September 2019, 180 Year 7 students will be admitted. Year on year the school will grow, providing 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old by 2024 and 900 places for local children between 11 and 16 years old by 2023.
