The Beaulieu Park School in Chelmsford is seeking an Inclusion Base Lead to establish and run a new Inclusion Base, providing targeted support for pupils facing barriers to learning, including EBSA, SEND and attendance difficulties. This is a high‑impact role, graded Scale 7, Pt 19‑24, term time plus inset days and 3 weeks’ holiday, 37 hours per week, with a salary of £33,119‑£36,581.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with vulnerable, disengaged or hard-to-reach young people.
  • Understands the challenges associated with EBSA, SEND, attendance and barriers to learning.
  • Experience developing and delivering successful intervention programs.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
  • Confident leading support plans and coordinating provision for individual pupils.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence to work collaboratively with external agencies and school staff.
  • Believes that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Inclusion Base.
  • Deliver structured learning programs that support pupils to remain engaged with education.
  • Design, implement and evaluate targeted interventions to improve attendance, engagement and outcomes.
  • Lead reintegration programs for pupils experiencing EBSA, persistent absence and reduced timetables.
  • Act as Lead Professional for pupils accessing the provision.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to teaching assistants and mentors working within the Inclusion Base.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and families to remove barriers to learning and attendance.
  • Coordinate multi-agency support and review meetings.
  • Monitor attendance, engagement and reintegration outcomes, evaluating the impact of provision and contributing to school improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with subject leaders to ensure pupils maintain access to a broad and ambitious curriculum.
