Michael Page Legal is recruiting an In House Litigation Solicitor based in West Yorkshire to manage a varied defendant litigation caseload across employers liability, public liability, road traffic accidents, property damage and consumer disputes.

You will work with high quality litigation work, supported by modern legal technology, and have opportunities to influence process improvement and legal strategy.

Qualifications

• Solicitor or CILEX with litigation rights.
• Experience in litigation with strong understanding of Civil Procedure Rules.
• Comfortable managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
• Commercially aware and able to communicate with stakeholders at different levels.
• Interest in legal technology and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of defendant litigation matters from pre action through to resolution.
• Advising on legal strategy, risk, settlement opportunities and compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Working closely with paralegals, managers and senior stakeholders to ensure effective outcomes and client service.
• Supporting legal operations initiatives, process improvements, reporting and development of best practice documentation.
• Mentoring and knowledge sharing with colleagues.

Description

The In House Litigation Solicitor will be:

Managing a portfolio of defendant litigation matters from pre action through to resolution, including higher value and complex claims

Advising on legal strategy, risk, settlement opportunities and compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements

Working closely with paralegals, managers and senior stakeholders to ensure effective outcomes and excellent client service

Supporting legal operations initiatives, process improvements, reporting and the development of best practice documentation

Contributing to colleague development through mentoring, feedback and knowledge sharing

Profile

The In House Litigation Solicitor should be:

A Solicitor or CILEX lawyer with litigation practice rights

Experienced in litigation with a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules

Comfortable managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision

Commercially aware and confident communicating with stakeholders at different levels

Interested in legal technology, process improvement and modern ways of working

Job Offer

• Competitive salary between £40,000 and £50,000, dependent on the level of experience.
