CRA Consulting is recruiting a Commercial & Civil Litigation Solicitor for a hybrid role based in Barnsley. You will handle a broad contentious caseload and support senior colleagues on complex disputes across multiple sectors.

The ideal candidate is a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 0–2 years’ PQE and solid experience in commercial litigation, civil procedure, and dispute resolution. The firm offers a supportive, growing environment with development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload, predominantly involving commercial litigation.

• Represent clients through litigation, mediation, arbitration and other dispute resolution forms.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development and networking initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm.

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid

I'm currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a progressive and growing law firm that has an excellent reputation for providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to both businesses and individuals.
Due to continued growth within the Dispute Resolution team, they are looking to appoint a Commercial & Civil Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join the team.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work alongside an experienced Partner on a broad and interesting range of contentious matters.
You'll manage your own caseload while also supporting senior colleagues on more complex disputes, advising clients across a variety of sectors and providing strategic, commercially focused solutions.
The role would suit a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with NQ-2 years' PQE, who has experience in commercial litigation and is keen to develop their career within a supportive and growing team.

• Managing a varied caseload, predominantly involving commercial litigation.
• Advising on contractual disputes, director, shareholder and partnership disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, business torts, construction disputes and contentious property matters.
• Representing clients through litigation, mediation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and settlement agreements.
• Conducting legal research and providing practical, commercially focused advice.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supporting business development and networking initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales.
• Have experience dealing with commercial litigation matters.
• Have strong knowledge of civil procedure and dispute resolution.
• Possess excellent analytical and negotiation skills, with an interest in developing advocacy experience.
• Be comfortable managing their own caseload with appropriate supervision.
• Have excellent communication and client care skills.
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
