Job summary

The Universal Credit Job Centre in South West Scotland is hiring a Work Coach to support claimants with their journey into work. You will meet customers face to face, assess needs, provide tailored advice and help them access job opportunities.

Based in Dunoon on a full-time contract, you will work within the DWP framework, uphold the Equality Act, and build productive relationships with employers and partners to improve outcomes for jobseekers.

Qualifications

• Providing support to customers claiming Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Jobseekers Allowance and Income Support.
• Offering quality advice to customers about job search actions and matching to vacancies.
• Building positive relationships with customers to encourage, motivate and build trust.

Responsibilities

• Face-to-face, digital and telephone contact with customers daily on site in DWP estate.
• Assess needs and tailor coaching to help customers progress into work.
• Ensure compliance with Equality Act 2010 and provide additional support where needed.
• Develop knowledge of local employment opportunities and partner services.
• Refer customers to appropriate help and support when required.
