Job summary

Serco is seeking a Case Administrator at HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire to provide high‑quality administrative support to the Offender Management Unit, ensuring case documentation is accurate, secure, and aligned with Prison Service Instructions.

You will support sentence planning, parole and custody processes, working with Prison Offender Managers and external agencies. The role offers training, a professional environment, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Excellent administration skills and experience working in a busy office environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• GCSEs English and Mathematics.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities.
• Professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Flexible to work additional hours when required.
• Able to lift, carry and move heavy files and records when required.
• An understanding of Offender Management Unit processes.
• Previous experience working with offenders or within a custodial environment.

Responsibilities

• Sentence calculation and parole dossier preparation and training within 12 months.
• Parole administration and liaison with the Parole Board.
• Public protection and risk management reporting.
• Custody administration including court lists and video link bookings.
• Home Detention Curfew processes and documentation handling.
