Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for young people with complex additional needs across home, community and school settings. You will work flexibly, crafting sessions with in-person, hybrid and community-based opportunities, using trauma-informed approaches to help students gain life skills, confidence and independence.

DBS and two professional references are required, and you will join a mission to raise education

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA, trauma, PDA, mental health)
• Background: Ideal for Support Workers, Learning Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants, or related care/education roles
• Approach: Child-centred, holistic delivery with adaptable, student-driven sessions
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
• Location: Based in the UK with right to work in the UK, including for remote/online work
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and safe learning environments

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people facing challenges
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities
• Support life skills, confidence and independence development
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for diverse needs
• Model emotional regulation and encourage it among learners
• Provide feedback and reflections to track progress and adapt support
