Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking Learning Support Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for SEND learners across the UK. You will deliver holistic, creative, session-based learning in homes, schools, and community settings, with flexible referrals and scheduling.

As a self-employed associate, you choose referrals, set sessions with parents or schools, and collaborate with coordinators and support teams to help disengaged learners thrive.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex additional needs.
• Background: Ideal for Support Workers, LSAs, TAs, HLTA, Youth Workers, PAs, or other care/education backgrounds.
• Approach: Child-centred, holistic way; you will tailor the curriculum to each student.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• Location: Based in the UK with the right to work, including remote/onsite options.
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people facing significant challenges.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support the development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Use trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies for a range of needs.
• Model and encourage emotional regulation in learning contexts.
• Share progress updates with the student’s team and adapt support as needed.
