Job summary

YMCA East Surrey in Redhill is recruiting a Housing Outreach Support Worker (Bank Staff) for Hillbrook House to transport residents to appointments using the charity vehicle, and when needed, a personal vehicle.

The role combines driving, resident welfare, vehicle checks, safeguarding, and collaborative support within housing services. Reporting to the Housing Support Manager, the post holder will work at Hillbrook House and across locations adhering to safeguarding, DBS checks, and UK GDPR.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence with business-use insurance and knowledge of safeguarding.
• DBS check enhanced with Children’s barred list required.
• First Aid qualification and local-area knowledge preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends or bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to appointments using YMCA vehicle or own vehicle.
• Ensure safety, welfare and comfort of residents while driving; adhere to lone-working policies.
• Conduct daily/weekly vehicle checks and basic maintenance; report defects.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage and incidents; refuel as needed.
• Represent YMCA East Surrey professionally and uphold safeguarding policies.
