Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking Bank Support Workers to join our OLYP services, providing practical and emotional support to young residents across Sussex and Surrey. Roles involve housing, budgeting, independent living skills, education and employment support, health and wellbeing, and building community connections.

You will work alongside experienced teams to ensure safe, well-staffed, and consistent service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people or in supported housing, care, education or community settings.
• Approachable, compassionate and resilient with a commitment to empowering young people to develop skills, confidence and independence.
• Flexible to provide dependable support and honour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to residents.
• Build positive relationships with young people and help them navigate challenges and access opportunities.
• Offer guidance and signposting on housing, budgeting, independent living skills, education and employment, health and wellbeing, and community connections.
• Contribute to the safe, well-staffed day-to-day running of the service with consistency and reliability.
