Job summary

YMCA East Surrey in Redhill, Surrey invites applications for a Housing Support Officer (Move-On) to provide high-quality housing-related support to young people and residents, empowering them to build independence and progress toward independent living.

The role is on-site, 35 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some flexibility, and involves liaising with external agencies, managing challenging behaviours, safeguarding, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Experience working with vulnerable individuals is desirable.
• Willingness to complete NVQ Level 3 or equivalent within 12 months if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Induct residents into accommodation and explain license terms and safety matters.
• Provide 1-2-1 and group support to residents and assist with appointments and assessments.
• Update support plans, records and documents to required standards and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records on computer systems and prepare statistics/reports as directed.
