Job summary

The Romero Catholic Academy in Coventry is seeking an HLTA to join the Learning Support team. You will provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, including SEND, and assist in preparing lessons and resources to boost learning outcomes.

You will monitor student progress, give feedback, and support Sixth Form students on occasion to develop independent study skills. A proactive, compassionate approach and safeguarding ethos are essential.

Qualifications

• An interest in working with students in an educational setting, ideally with experience in supporting students with SEND.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
• The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the varying needs of students, both in class and in individual support sessions.
• A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting the academic and emotional development of young people.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND.
• Offer specific support to Sixth Form students on occasion, helping them to develop independent learning skills and achieve their academic goals.
• Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons and resources to support students’ learning.
• Assist in the monitoring and tracking of student progress, providing feedback and support to help them succeed.
