Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated HLTA to work in SEND schools in Birmingham, supporting students to achieve academic and personal goals.

The HLTA will lead lessons in the teacher's absence, support planning and learning activities, and deliver targeted interventions to promote inclusion and progress. DBS check and positive safeguarding practices are essential, with strong communication and organisational skills emphasized.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Youth Work, Health and Social Care, or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desirable but not essential.
• Ability to quickly build rapport with students.
• DBS check and suitable references obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning activities and deliver lessons in the absence of the teacher.
• Provide targeted interventions across literacy, numeracy, and emotional wellbeing.
• Support pupils with SEND and adapt approaches to promote inclusion and engagement.
• Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
