Job summary

The Romero Catholic Academy is seeking an HLTA to join the Learning Support team at Cardinal Wiseman School in Coventry. You will provide tailored support to students with SEND, including Sixth Form assistance, and help plan lessons and resources to boost learning outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, strong communication, and a compassionate, proactive approach to students’ academic and emotional development, with a commitment to safeguarding and welfare.

The Role:

As an HLTA within the Learning Support team, you will:

• Provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Offer specific support to our Sixth Form students on occasion, helping them to develop independent learning skills and achieve their academic goals.
• Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons and resources to support students’ learning.
• Assist in the monitoring and tracking of student progress, providing feedback and support to help them succeed.

• An interest in working with students in an educational setting, ideally with experience in supporting students with SEND.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
• The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the varying needs of students, both in class and in individual support sessions.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
