Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd in Manchester is seeking an experienced Complex Needs Support Worker to provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to residents in supported accommodation. You will build trusting relationships, assess needs, and develop personalised support plans to help residents overcome homelessness and other complex challenges.

The role focuses on aiding independence, accessing benefits and services, and working with local authorities and health professionals. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting adults with complex needs.
• Experience in supported housing, homelessness, social care or a similar setting.
• Knowledge of mental health, substance misuse, homelessness and safeguarding.
• Experience completing assessments and developing support plans.
• A person-centred and non-judgemental approach.

Responsibilities

• Building positive and trusting relationships with residents.
• Completing needs and risk assessments.
• Creating and reviewing personalised support plans.
• Supporting residents with homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, financial difficulties and other complex needs.
• Helping residents develop independence, confidence and practical life skills.
• Supporting residents to access benefits, healthcare, housing and other services.
• Providing housing advice and helping residents move towards suitable long-term accommodation.
• Working with local authorities, health services and other agencies.
• Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Maintaining accurate records and monitoring residents' progress.
• Supporting residents to engage with their local community and achieve their goals.
