Job summary

Wilderness Way is hiring Residential Support Workers across our homes in the UK. You will lead by example, build trusting relationships with children, and provide a safe, nurturing home environment while supporting their education, health and wellbeing.

Opportunities for progression to Senior Residential Support Worker, with six-month induction and ongoing development. A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare is preferred, and a full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals in care, education, youth work or similar environments.
• Positive and resilient approach with good communication skills.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare if not already held.
• Be 21 or over due to requirements within children's residential care.
• Hold the right to work in the UK; sponsorship not available for this position.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable driving as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and create a safe, structured, nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing and encourage independence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities and support their wishes and feelings.
• Work collaboratively with Managers, Therapists and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues at Senior Residential Support Worker level and model best practice.
