Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Hereford to support a secondary student with autism and SEND. The role is full-time, long-term with immediate start, and involves consistent 1:1 learning support within the school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the student to facilitate engagement, access the curriculum and nurture development while maintaining strong communication with school staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with autism and SEND.
• Experience providing 1:1 support within an education or similar setting.
• Good understanding of the needs of secondary-aged students.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient and adaptable approach.
• Positive can-do attitude and willingness to get involved.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to help the student engage with their education.
• Support access to curriculum and school day through individualized learning plans.
• Build positive relationships with the student, teachers and school staff.
