Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Hereford to support a secondary student with autism and SEND. The role is full-time, long-term with immediate start, and involves consistent 1:1 learning support within the school environment.

Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £14.25 - £16.25 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Hereford. The school is looking for a committed and supportive 1:1 Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent support to a secondary-aged student within the school environment.

The school is looking to take on a 1:1 Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with a student with autism and SEND, providing individual support with their learning, engagement and development while helping them access the curriculum and school day.

The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with autism and SEND
• Experience providing 1:1 support within an education or similar setting
• A good understanding of the needs of secondary-aged students
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient and adaptable approach
• A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
