Job summary

QA Limited is offering an IT Support Apprenticeship in Greater Manchester. The role covers first-line technical support for staff and students, resolving IT issues, and mentoring through exposure to ICT systems across Trust schools.

You will help with software installs, network tasks, AD management, asset inventory, and basic tuition on equipment. Benefits include wellbeing and tech-focused training with career prospects in education IT.

Qualifications

• 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
• Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject
• Non-standard entry with work experience considered for applicants with potential to benefit from the programme

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day maintenance, problem solving and fault resolution of all IT-related equipment.
• Install and update software as needed.
• Undertake basic network patching/cabling tasks.
• Perform Active Directory user, group and policy management tasks.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all ICT related equipment via the Trusts online asset management system.
• Assist with the setup of IT and digital display equipment.
• Provide basic tuition to staff and students on equipment use.
• Assist users with the use of day-to-day software applications across a range of platforms.
• Maintain stocks of spare parts and peripherals.
• Update digital signage displays with content provided by school staff.
• Keep a check on daily backup status and proactive monitoring alerting.
