Job summary

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is seeking an enthusiastic ICT Technician for Outwood Academy Redcar. The role focuses on first-line ICT support, hardware and software maintenance, and helping keep classrooms and staff equipped with reliable technology.

The successful candidate will work within the ICT support team, manage calls via the helpdesk, assist with software evaluation, system inventories, and health and safety compliance while contributing to a calm, well-supported learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of general hardware and software.
  • Highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in ICT support or similar is advantageous.

Salary (Actual Salary): £27,254 - £28,142 (Grade 5, SCP 9 - 11)


About the Academy:


Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11-16, located in the coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough in the North-East region.

About the Role:


We invite applications from enthusiastic and flexible ICT support specialists to join our existing ICT support team. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of general hardware and software as well as being highly organised and having excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team is essential and experience of working in an ICT support role or similar would be an advantage.


Main duties and responsibilities:



  • Manage own workload through the allocation of calls via the helpdesk;

  • Providing first line ICT support to staff and students;

  • Assist with the maintenance of all ICT rooms and equipment;

  • Assist with general technical support for the ICT department;

  • Assist with the evaluation of new and existing software;

  • Attend and contribute to ICT related meetings;

  • Assist in the development of recording systems for ICT usage throughout the department;

  • Assist in keeping the ICT software/hardware inventories up to date;

  • Assist in providing technical support for staff presentations;

  • Be aware of and adhere to all relevant health and safety legislation associated with duties undertaken;

  • Commission, maintain, test and repair electronic/computer systems, associated peripherals and AV equipment ensuring this equipment complies with health & safety legislation;

  • Install and configure software under the direction of the network manager.
