Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Hydrogen Fuel System Engineer on a contract basis in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on design, development, and qualification of hydrogen propulsion system components for aerospace applications.

You will contribute to system architecture, verification and validation activities, and interface with suppliers to ensure regulatory compliance and on-time delivery. Strong knowledge of hydrogen safety and industry standards is required.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in gas system design for hydrogen and compressed gas applications.
• Experience with hydrogen fuel systems, including cryogenic storage and supply solutions.
• Background in mechanical assembly, pressure testing, leak detection, and fluid system validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate hydrogen fuel system concepts for aerospace applications.
• Contribute to system layout, packaging, and interface definitions for onboard systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.
• Plan and execute V&V activities, including test procedures and risk assessments.
• Analyse performance of hardware and control systems, drive corrective actions.
• Maintain engineering documentation (P&IDs, ICDs, schematics).
• Support certification and airworthiness activities under DO-160/DO-178/DO-254 and ATEX/DSEAR.
