Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer on a 6-month contract in Gloucestershire with hybrid working arrangements.

The role focuses on design, integration and testing of gaseous and cryogenic hydrogen fuel systems across storage, distribution, conditioning and aircraft interfaces. Key requirements include hands-on development and validation experience, safety/risk methods, and knowledge of aerospace certification processes.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing hydrogen or cryogenic fuel systems.
• Experience with hydrogen storage, distribution and conditioning systems.
• Good understanding of thermodynamics and fluid / gas dynamics.
• Hands-on experience taking systems through development, integration and validation.
• Experience with system safety and reliability methods.
• Aerospace and associated certification experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Hydrogen fuel-system design, architecture and integration.
• Gaseous and cryogenic hydrogen storage, distribution and conditioning.
• LH2 / cryogenic and high‑pressure gas systems.
• Fuel-system component selection and integration.
• Pressure, leak and system testing / validation.
• Thermodynamics and fluid / gas dynamics.
• System safety including FHA, FMEA and FTA.
• Supplier management and technical delivery.
