Job summary

ZeroAvia in the United Kingdom is seeking a Hydrogen Fuel Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and validation of hydrogen storage, distribution, and conditioning systems for next-generation aircraft.

You will work across system architecture, requirements management, testing, and certification activities, collaborating with suppliers and certification stakeholders to deliver safe, high-performance hydrogen propulsion solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with hydrogen/gas/cryogenic system exposure.
• Proven experience designing, integrating, and validating gaseous and liquid hydrogen fuel systems in high-pressure environments.
• Strong sizing, modelling, and validation using engineering/simulation tools.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, system safety, and reliability methods (FHA, FMEA, FTA).
• Hands-on hydrogen and cryogenic system testing with safety and certification awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of gaseous and liquid hydrogen fuel systems including storage and distribution.
• Define and manage system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and packaging for onboard hydrogen systems.
• Drive supplier selection, development, and technical oversight for performance and compliance.
• Plan and execute verification, validation, testing, and safety assessments (FMEA/FHA/FTA).
• Support regulatory certification activities and management of hydrogen refuelling/test facilities.
