A specialist manufacturing organization based in the South West is seeking a Hydraulic Control Valves and Systems Applications Engineer. This role involves providing technical support to customers, managing quotes and orders, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in hydraulics and sales, excellent technical knowledge, and strong communication skills. The position offers a salary of £38,000 to £44,000 per annum along with additional benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Good technical knowledge of hydraulic control valves and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic system diagrams.
• Previous experience in a technical sales or customer-facing sales role.
• Confident using Microsoft applications and experience with ERP systems.
• Clear and fluent English speaking and writing skills.
• Excellent telephone manner and professional communication style.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers with technical product queries, orders and quotations.
• Generating accurate quotations and entering orders onto the ERP system.
• Maintaining regular contact with customers to progress enquiries and sales opportunities.
• Recording accurate customer and sales information within internal systems.
• Identifying and generating new sales enquiries where possible.
• Attending occasional customer visits, exhibitions, and trade shows.
• Supporting and training less technical members of the team.

Skills

Technical knowledge of hydraulic control valves and hydraulic systems

Ability to read and understand hydraulic system diagrams

Previous experience in a technical sales or customer-facing sales role

Confident using Microsoft applications

Clear and fluent English speaking and writing skills

Excellent telephone manner and professional communication style

Education

GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
