CHG Electrical is seeking a Civil Design Engineer in Sheffield with hybrid working. You will design civil layouts, foundations and below-ground structures for water and wastewater projects, collaborating with MEICA and project teams to ensure practical, buildable designs.

You’ll develop site layouts, perform calculations, and review with consultants and suppliers. The role emphasizes whole-life performance, safety and cost efficiency across AMP infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5+ years civil design experience within utilities, infrastructure or water-related projects.
• Experience producing civil engineering drawings, designs and calculations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage.
• Familiarity with WIMES, Sewerage Sector Guidance and Building Regulations.
• Sound understanding of CDM regulations and temporary and permanent works requirements.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Prepare civil engineering designs, drawings and calculations for below-ground structures, foundations, ducting, chambers and temporary works.
• Develop site layouts, access routes and enabling works to support mobilisation and project delivery.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and wider project teams to ensure civil designs integrate with MEICA requirements.
• Review proposals with external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure designs are practical, buildable and aligned with the wider project scope.
• Provide technical support to site teams during construction.
• Respond to technical queries and RFIs, aiding design challenges.
• Contribute to O&M manuals and as-built information.
