Job summary

CHG Electrical in Sheffield is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing MEICA capability. You will design pumps, pipework, valves, tanks and process plant, develop P&IDs and GA layouts, and ensure buildable, compliant designs across water and wastewater projects.

You’ll collaborate with civil, electrical and ICA teams, provide on-site technical support, and contribute to handover packages while benefiting from hybrid working and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5+ years mechanical design experience
• Experience with pumps, pipework, valves, tanks
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor
• Familiarity with WIMES and CDM

Responsibilities

• Design layouts, pipework designs, equipment specifications for MEICA installations
• Develop P&IDs, GA layouts and equipment schedules
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and ICA teams to ensure buildability and integration
• Provide on-site technical support during construction and handover
