Job summary

CHG Electrical in Sheffield is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop mechanical solutions for water and wastewater MEICA projects. You will design pumps, pipework, valves and tanks, and develop P&IDs and GA layouts, collaborating with civil and electrical teams to ensure buildable, compliant designs.

You’ll remain involved on site, providing technical support during construction and handover. A degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5+ years’ experience is expected, with

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3-5+ years mechanical design experience in utilities/infrastructure/water projects is preferred.
• Experience designing pumps, pipework, valves, tanks and process plant.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor and pipework/process design tools.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical drawings, layouts and calculations for pumps, pipework and process plant.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and MEICA teams for integrated solutions.
• Support construction with site queries, RFI responses and handover documentation.
