Job summary

GHD in Manchester is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead design and delivery of water and wastewater projects within AMP8 programmes. The role blends office and site collaboration in a hybrid setup, driving sustainable infrastructure and resilient networks for UK utilities.

You'll mentor junior engineers, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and deliver concept through to construction support, ensuring quality, budget and schedule alignment across major water sector schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally in UK water sector.
• Experience delivering civil designs for infrastructure projects including water and wastewater assets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering design activities across water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare and review calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Support development from concept through detailed design.
• Undertake hydraulic and civil infrastructure design for treatment and network assets.
• Coordinate inputs across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support delivery to meet programme, budget and quality objectives.
• Assist with construction support and technical queries.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers.
• Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
